We left Galaxidi this morning at 07.30. Initially we had a good sailing wind and made a sedate 3 to 5 knts, then it went and we used one engine and the mainsail. By 15.00 hrs the wind had headed us and was gusting over 20 knts with a very short confused sea. We had 15 miles to go so took down the main and put up the reefed jib and used both engines on slow revs. There are very few places to shelter and so we crashed on through the seas with spray everywhere.
Now we have only 1.67 miles to go to Corintha Yacht Club. The wind is now down to 10 knts and it's a grey miserable day! The entrance to the Corinth canal is in site and several large ships are anchored nearby.
Finally, by 17.15 hrs we are anchored stern to the small Corinth Yacht Club harbour. It's still raining!
We hear that the Corinth Canal strike is by the pilots so small yachts can still get through. There is also a possibility of heavy winds tomorrow and Malcolm has to be in Athens by Thursday night in order to catch his plane home. We all covered in salt from the seas. It's been a long day of very varied winds and seas.
