Well it blew a bit and all around the various sea areas had gales but we were spared.
On the weather web site it shows winds decreasing over the next few days down to almost nothing! We are preparing to move on North tomorrow, perhaps to Lavrion. We went ashore yesterday to look for a new small gas BBQ but failed to find any that fitted the bill. Today its time to get fresh stores of vegetables, milk and fill the ships water tanks. We still have a reasonable amount left and have made about 30 litres with the watermaker.

Wind NNW4
Tirla up anchor and left Poros at 08.30 hrs this morning heading Northwards. She is now under full main and genoa. Earlier, while close into the land, we had the coaster up, then gybed, then down in the space of 20 minutes. Hard work! Current speed is 7 knts on a course of 56 degrees. There is a flow against the wind causing a wave "popple" but its very pleasant to be at sea and hear all the various rhythmic sounds again. On the horizon are a number of charter yachts busy going hither and thither.
We are doing on hour on each. Malcolm will be on his way to work no doubt wondering where we are.
The barometer is now well up and I expect that the wind may drop away tomorrow but you can never tell!
12.46 hrs
The wind has held about 7 to 9 knts NNW and we have made steady progress at about 5 knts. Over on the port beam and in the distant smog is Athens. We can make out the city, which at this distance looks like hundreds of white square stones. Around us are several large container and general cargo vessels. The sky is Mediterranean blue with no clouds. I'm fishing by towing a "bird" rig just in case there are any fish about. This unit twists and splashes to attract larger predator fish and is on a large reel attached to our best boat rod. At the end are some very colourful pink plastic squid! I don't expect to catch anything.
15.00 hrs
Saw half a dozen dolphins in the distance travelling fast NW. Was unable to identify the species.
17.00 hrs
During the afternoon the wind slowly died away and we lowered one engine and carried on at 6 knots under power.
