The beaches here are said to be some of the best in Greece. All round this bay are clean long strips of sand with the mountains in the background.



Above is one of the old systems for getting the smaller fishing boats up on the beach using a simple winch and wooden sledges. A long handle would be placed in the hole and pushed round by willing hands to drag up the boats. This principle has worked well for hundreds of years.
