We motored over to the mainland side to see a large fish farm moored in 50 metres of water. There we met a man who spoke no English but made it plain he supported Liverpool football club! He was Bulgarian. It seemed he looked after the farm transferring the fish from one net enclosure to another as they grew in size.

He had thousands of fish in the various nets.
The whole floating structure is secured to the seabed by many heavy anchors.
In some of the bays we could see the beautiful "Fan mussel". It grows to over 35 cm and sits upright with the inside bright orange shell attracting small fish. It always has a shrimp or small fish with it. They work as a team. Once the companion sees the shell full of potential food it "nips" the mussel, which suddenly closes killing those inside. It then reopens and shares the meals with its team mate! It requires a slightly muddy seabed and clear unpolluted water.
