We spoke to a local taverna owner who told us of his experiences in some of the big tremors. He came here from Athens 30 years ago and in his first big quake the houses swayed nearly a metre and he found that he was so shocked he could not move.



Note the Dolphin hydrofoil on the far quay. In the foreground is the new quay. We have two anchors out, the fortress on 30 metres of rope and the Delta on 20 metres of chain both in 4 metres of water. The passerelle can be seen off Tirla's stern and our four stern mooring ropes. The large sun bimini is up over the main deck. The 8 metre yellow rib came all the way from Cyprus. With it's 225 Hp engine I suspect it can do well over 30 knots fully loaded.
